These terms are from KnotTheory.ai Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”). This page currently covers text-message alerts from Tesseract Tax Cloud. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. Text Message (SMS) Terms — Tesseract-Tax Alerts

Program. Tesseract-Tax Alerts are text messages from Tesseract Tax Cloud (platform.knottheory.ai), sent when an item on your tax return needs your action — for example, signing the IRS e-file authorization (Form 8879), uploading a document your accountant asked for, or an IRS rejection of your e-filed return. We also send a one-time verification code when you sign up and a confirmation once alerts are on.
Opting in. You join by entering your own mobile number on your Profile page, ticking the consent box, and entering the code we text you. Your accountant cannot sign you up. Consent is not a condition of using the platform or of any purchase.
Message frequency. Varies with activity on your return; at most one alert per day, and none between 9 pm and 8 am in your time zone.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for alerts.
Content. Texts never contain tax, income, or other financial details; they ask you to sign in to read the message.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to cancel; we send one confirmation and nothing further. You can also turn texts off on your Profile page. To rejoin, reply START or opt in again on your Profile page.
Help. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@knottheory.ai.
Carriers. Available to US mobile numbers on participating carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number. Tell us if you change or give up your mobile number, or turn texts off first, so alerts do not reach the number’s next owner.
Privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
