KnotTheory.ai Inc. ("we", "us", "our") develops Tesseract-Tax and Tesseract-Prime. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data our apps collect, use, and share.

2. Data Collection

Tesseract-Tax

No personal data is collected. All tax documents, credentials, and financial information remain on your device.
Anonymous usage ping: On first launch, the app sends a single anonymous request containing only a random UUID and platform identifier (macOS or iOS) to our server for download counting purposes. No name, email, IP address, device identifier, or financial data is included.
No analytics or tracking SDKs are embedded in the app.
No advertising is present in the app.

Tesseract-Prime

All processing is performed locally on your device using on-device AI models.
No data is sent to external servers.

3. Credential Storage

Tesseract-Tax includes a Secure Vault feature that stores website credentials using industry-standard encryption via the operating system's Keychain. Credentials are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to KnotTheory.ai or any third party.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any personal data to third parties. The anonymous download count data we collect contains no personally identifiable information.

5. Data Retention

Anonymous download count records (random UUID, platform, timestamp) are retained on our server for internal metrics. Since these contain no personal information, they cannot be linked to any individual user.

6. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
